LOADING... BAY
Site-specific installation commissioned to celebrate BPN Architects 20th Anniversary.
"LOADING... BAY" playfully transformed a garage space from functional to fun. Creating a virtual beach environment through video, sound and sculptural elements, the piece referenced computer technology and gaming, as well as construction and a sense of the childlike pretend.
The materials used are linked by different types of "grain:" sand, wood, image. The sandpit, full of builder’s sand, references an architect’s key role in the built environment, while the colours, sunshine and landscape created a relaxing oasis into which the viewer can briefly escape.
