the video piece explores the tension between the humorous and serious through the cinematic edit. comical narratives are reworked into darkly absurd gestural and movement based collages. where Actors become trapped inside eternally repeating Beckettian loops. Through costume and performance the work draws parallels between the lonely comic role of the film editor and the characters manipulated within the edit,
The screen’s temporary presence in the space challenges our relationship to video screens and the permanence of time based media. Combining appropriated footage with found objects, the building and disassembling of the screen emphasizes the breaking down, recycling and reconstruction of visual material in film culture whilst celebrating cinema's potential as a launchpad for human creativity and ideas..
